downtown LAPRIVATE LABEL: Los Angeles

2-7 February 2012

These journeys are designed to allow us to give you a perfect travel experience: to insure there is no trauma or drama, or Strum und Drang.

Since 1991 we’ve visited cities and places we love with fellow travelers who understand what travel is all about: new horizons, new experiences, new friends. We are very excited to share our favorite places with you.

Private Label Los Angeles takes you one of our favorite American cities. We love LA. From the hooray of Hollywood to the thrill of the LA Phil at the spectacular Disney Hall, this city has it all.  Brian spent his wonder years in LA and can’t wait to show you his second home town.

DisneyLos Angeles, California, where stardom lays just a breath and a dream away. This mecca of wanderlust, fantasy, and decades of celluloid whimsy is as beautiful and magical in its reality as in the wishes of millions who come to the city each year. But LA is more than Hollywood hooray. This metropolis now offers world-class amenities unknown when I was a young teen growing up in Torrance. There are the museums: LCMA, the Huntington, the   Norton-Simon, the Geffen Contemporary, Japanese American National Museum, and the Getty— just to name a few. Restaurants abound, from world-famous hotdog stands to ocean-side elegance, not to mention ne plus ultra cocktail lounges and colorful neighborhood bars. The shopping is breath-taking whether it be the rarefied air of Rodeo Drive or the small shops of Little Tokyo or Korea Town.

Hollywood and HighlandAnd within the city are so many towns: the charm of Santa Monica; the wild abandon of West Hollywood; the Viet-chic of Westminster; laidback Redondo Beach; glamorous Bel Air and Brentwood; Burbank bravado and patrician Pasadena.

Sofitel, LA

Sofitel, LA
Sofitel LA is the hottest hotel in the city, with stunning interiors marrying French chic and Hollywood glamour. This luxe hotel has a decor that is the stuff of magazine covers. Its central location is a stone’s-throw to world-famous Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, West Hollywood, Melrose Avenue and Sunset Boulevard. The hotel’s deluxe amenities include restaurant Simon LA by Kerry Simon, the hotel's tour de force Stone Rose Lounge, designed by international nightclub impresario Rande Gerber, and Le Spa at Sofitel.

Sofitel, LAThe 11-story building has a classic Mansard roof that gives it a traditional sheen and homegrown architectural street-cred. However, there is nothing traditional about the interior of the hotel. The public areas are on-trend; the rooms are where Gallic éclat meets all-American comfort.

This hotel takes service seriously and has an exceptional look that captures Beverly Hills' contemporaneous renaissance.
